03 General information collected when you visit our website
Nature and purpose of processing
When you access our website, i.e. without registering or otherwise submitting information, general information is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address and similar data.
It is processed in particular for the following purposes:
- ensuring a smooth connection to the website,
- ensuring smooth use of our website,
- evaluating system security and stability, and
- other administrative purposes.
We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you personally. Information of this kind may be evaluated statistically to optimise our website and the technology behind it.
Legal basis
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.
Recipients
The recipient of the data is our hosting provider, STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. STRATO operates our website servers and our email mailbox and acts as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Other technical service providers who maintain our website as processors may also be recipients.
Storage period
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. For data used to provide the website, this is generally the case when the respective session has ended.
Whether provision is required
Providing the above personal data is not required by law or contract. Without your IP address, however, the service and functionality of our website cannot be guaranteed, and individual services may be unavailable or restricted. For this reason, objection is excluded.
04 Contact and enquiry forms
Nature and purpose of processing
The data you enter is stored for the purpose of communicating with you individually. A valid email address and your name are required for this, so that we can assign and answer your enquiry. Any further information is optional; for spare parts requests we also need your company name and delivery address.
This applies to all forms on this website – project assessment, product enquiry, spare parts request, defect report and access to the venue file – and likewise when you contact us by email or phone. For spare parts requests, we pass the parts list on to the respective manufacturer without your contact details in order to clarify price, delivery time and shipping.
Legal basis
Data entered in the contact form is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
By providing the contact form, we want to make it easy for you to get in touch. Your details are stored for the purpose of handling your enquiry and any follow-up questions.
If you contact us to request a quote, the data entered in the form is processed to take steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Recipients
Recipients of the data may be processors, in particular our hosting provider STRATO (website and email mailbox). For spare parts requests, the manufacturer receives the parts list without your contact details.
Storage period
Data is deleted no later than 6 months after your enquiry has been dealt with.
If a contractual relationship is established, we are subject to the statutory retention periods under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and delete your data once these periods have expired.
Whether provision is required
Providing your personal data is voluntary. However, we can only process your enquiry if you give us your name, your email address and the reason for your enquiry.
05 Temporary storage in your browser (project assessment)
Nature and purpose of processing
So that your entries in the project assessment are not lost if you leave or reload the page, your browser stores them in local storage (localStorage) on your device. This data is only transmitted to us when you submit the project assessment.
Legal basis
Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, as storage is strictly necessary for the function you have requested, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in a user-friendly project assessment.
Storage period
The temporary storage is cleared after you submit the assessment or when you click “Start again”. You can also delete it at any time in your browser settings.
06 Inspection date reminders
Nature and purpose of processing
If you sign up in our customer service area for a reminder before the main inspection, we use your email address to remind you in good time before the annual inspection of your facility. You confirm your sign-up via a link that we send you by email (double opt-in).
Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Storage period and withdrawal of consent
We store your email address until you unsubscribe from the reminder. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by email to info@demacon3d.com.
07 No analytics or advertising services
We do not use any analytics, tracking or advertising services such as Google Analytics on this website, and we do not create usage profiles.
08 Fonts
To display our content correctly and attractively in all browsers, we use the fonts “Inter Tight” and “Jost”. They are stored on our own web server and loaded from there. No connection is made to servers of Google or other font providers.
09 Embedded YouTube videos
Nature and purpose of processing
We may embed YouTube videos on individual pages. For users in the European Economic Area, the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; YouTube belongs to Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
We embed the videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). A video is only loaded when you click on it – before that, no connection to YouTube is made. After the click, YouTube learns which page you are visiting. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can link your browsing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. When a YouTube video is started, the provider may use cookies or similar technologies that collect information about user behaviour.
Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube, and on your rights and privacy settings, can be found in the provider’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Legal basis
The legal basis for embedding YouTube and the associated data transfer to Google is your consent, which you give by clicking on the video (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG).
Recipients
Loading a YouTube video triggers a connection to Google.
Storage period and withdrawal of consent
We have no influence on how long YouTube stores data. You can withdraw your consent for the future by not starting any further videos and by deleting or blocking the cookies stored by YouTube in your browser.
Transfer to third countries
Google also processes your data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For certified companies, the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision on 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR).
Whether provision is required
Providing your personal data is voluntary and based solely on your consent. If you do not start a video, no data is transferred to YouTube; you can use all other content of the website without restriction.
10 SSL/TLS encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption (e.g. SSL/TLS) via HTTPS.
11 Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always meets current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
